What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the clinical application of hypnosis for therapeutic benefit. In a deep state of relaxation (which is not sleep) the unconscious mind is able to focus attention where it is needed, access internal resources and be receptive to healthy perspectives and ideas.
I utilise a range of approaches to best meet your individual needs and goals, including:
What is hypno-psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a technique that supports clients to address their issues by means of insight, suggestion, reassurance and instruction so that they are able to have awareness and understanding of themselves and their problems and cope with them more easily and constructively.
Hypno-psychotherapy utilises hypnosis to enhance psychotherapy. Hypnosis combined with psychotherapy often delivers rapid results compared to other psychotherapeutic modalities.
A hypno-psychotherapist differs from a hypnotherapist because they are trained to employ both hypnotic and psychotherapeutic interventions to support clients to achieve their goals. Hypno-Psychotherapy can be used to help with deeper problems than would be addressed by someone qualified only in hypnotherapy.
Hypno-psychotherapy is integrative in its approach. This means that theories and approaches are utilized from a number of different schools of psychological thought.
This form of therapy can be very effective in resolving unconscious blocks to fertility and reducing the negative impacts of fertility problems on your life.
Integrative hypno-psychotherapy is effective for clients wanting a whole person approach to overcoming difficulties and achieving a goal. For example, stress related physical illness, anxiety and panic attacks, fertility issues, weight management, relationship issues or pain management.
This form of therapy views you holistically in relation to or in the context of your environment. This means that your individual physical symptoms, patterns of thought and behaviour, past experiences and current circumstances are taken into account and used to support you to overcome your difficulties and achieve your personal goals.
I incorporate Gestalt therapy, which views the individual as basically healthy and striving for balance. This form of therapy recognizes that difficulties can arise when thoughts, behaviours and responses become habitual and are not ‘updated’ to changed circumstances. For example, this might be experienced as ‘repeated negative patterns’ in relationships. By focusing on your present experience we seek to resolve what is ‘residue’ from the past and support you to achieve the balance required to live in a way that is flexible and satisfying.
Hypno-psychotherapy involves us working together, you are always an active participant.
